Good Job Pastors….

Friday, August 8th, 2008

It has been a crazy week around here, hence the lack of posting, but I came across two separate news articles that surprised me today.

First was about a US pastor who went to Beijing for the ‘Olympics’ but instead has been vandalizing hotel rooms. You know, just like Jesus did during his ministry…. Mr. Eddie Romero you need to grow up.

“We really don’t understand why he did this,” said Lanny Liu, communications manager at Traders [hotel in beijing]. Romero apparently slipped out of room 417 before dawn Wednesday, leaving damage that Liu said cost nearly $1,500 to clean up. “We just want to find the person and ask him to pay the bill.”

I’m appalled that he even thinks this might somehow bring about change and greater freedoms in China. I’m already getting a headache and I haven’t even gotten to point #2.

Secondly, Joel Osteens wife, Victoria. While I don’t know what did or didn’t happen on that continental flight in regards to that drink spill, the underpinning point is that there was an obvious lack of grace from the wife of one of Americas most well known pastors.

A flight attendant who was also on the plane testified Thursday that Victoria Osteen acted like a combative diva about the spill.

“She [Mrs. Osteen] took Sharon by the shoulders and pushed her out of the way. Sharon stumbled,” Johnson said.

My apologies if today’s post seems a bit disgruntled. It’s very frustrating to read through the news and see that this is the press the leaders of our Church in America are giving our Church and the Gospel here.

In other news the opening of the olymics was spectatular from everything I’ve read and is a must watch for tonight. Please join me in praying for Beijing that nothing but sport happens during the games.
